A. Application Process
  1. Startup Pirates applications for the program will be submitted to an evaluation. Not all the candidates will be accepted in the program.
  2. Capacity is limited to 30 to 35 attendees, selected from all the applications.
  3. After the evaluation, the selected participants will be notified. The application will only be confirmed after payment.
  4. Accommodation costs are not included in the registration fee. Attendees are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements.

 

B. Cancellation Policy
  1. Startup Pirates programs' registration can be cancelled by sending an e-mail to the local organization team. The e-mail is typically [city]@startuppirates.org, you can find it at the contacts section on the local website.
  2. Registrations cancelled 15 days before the first day of the event will be entitled to a refund. Registrations cancelled after this limit won’t be entitled to a refund.

 

C. Agenda
  1. The agenda is published on the local website. The organization has the right to change the program without notice.

 

D. Participation and Behavior
  1. The participant acknowledges and agrees that any ideas for businesses, projects or collaborations among participants of Startup Pirates programs presented by other participant are and remain the intellectual property of the person (hereinafter owner) presenting the idea. The participant agrees that any idea, including any similar ideas with respect to customer benefits, unique selling propositions, process flow or business model ("related idea"), will be used solely for the purpose of evaluating potential business-ventures, projects or other arrangements among participants of Startup Pirates programs. The participant further agrees that he/she will not use any idea or related idea to generate revenues in any form, unless agreed in writing by the owner. The participant is not allowed to disclose any idea or related idea without the written consent of the owner.
  2. Participants are expected to behave professionally. Excessive use of obscene language, abusive behavior, or threatening behavior directed to any other participant will not contribute to a learning environment. The organization may exclude attendees if any of the conditions mentioned above is verified.

 

E. Anti-harassment Policy
  1. Startup Pirates Atlanta is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any venue, including talks. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the program at the discretion of the organizers.
  2. Harassment includes verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
    If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the program. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of staff immediately. Staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.
  3. We expect participants to follow these rules at all program venues and program-related social events.
  F. Personal Information
  1. Please note that participant contact details will be kept on the Startup Pirates data base, which will only be used by Startup Pirates.
  2. The e-mail addresses will also be used to circulate last minute details, newsletters and announcements.
  3. Participants of Startup Pirates programs agree to collaborate with Startup Pirates by answering regular surveys about the event itself and the evolution of their projects.
  4. The Startup Pirates participants agree to assign the rights of their image in photograph or video, exclusively on Startup Pirates context and in Startup Pirates publications.

 

G. Personal Property
  1. Startup Pirates accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.
